Meet the Doctors

Dr. Hollingsworth is a therapeutic optometrist that specializes in family eye exams, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and injury, and dry eye and allergic conditions.   





Education

Dr. Hollingsworth received his undergraduate degree in biology from Kansas State University in 1993. He was then accepted into the prestigious Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. He received his Doctor of Optometry Degree from Illinois College of Optometry in 1997.

Practice

Dr. Hollingsworth moved to Texas after graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry, where he has been in private practice since 1997. He is a member of the Texas Optometric Association and attends regular continuing education seminars to offer only the highest quality of patient care. He is also a Partner in Education through the McKinney ISD school system for children in need.

Family

Dr. Hollingsworth and his wife, Lara have four children who attend school in McKinney ISD. Dr. Hollingsworth enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, fishing and reading in his spare time.

Dr. Don Jackson, O.D. 

Dr. Jackson graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in 1984 and has practiced in North Texas since 1987 while continuing to hold an optometry license in Tennessee and Mississippi.  Dr. Jackson joined Hollingsworth Family Eye Care in 2007 and practices at the Custer Rd. location in McKinney.

Dr. John Rivera, O.D. 

Dr. Rivera did his undergraduate work at Texas Tech University, and received his doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry.  He has been in clinical practice in the DFW area for more than thirty years.  He is a past president of The Colony Rotary Club, and past member of the Lion's Club, working closely with their vision programs.  Dr. Rivera holds three U.S. patents related to eyeglass products and method of assembly.  He has been associated with Hollingsworth Family Eye Care since 2008 and works at the Redbud Blvd. location in McKinney.

Dr. Jeffery Horacek, O.D.

Dr. Horacek is originally from Nebraska and graduated from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1986.  As a therapeutic optometrist, Dr. Horacek practiced in the Plano / Richardson area until 1995.  For the next 14 years, Dr. Horacek ownded Alpha Optical in Frisco and was very active in the Frisco community through his church and Rotary club.  Before joining with Dr. Hollingsworth at the new Sherman location, Dr. Horacek was most recently practicing with Dr. Gary Thomas in the Sherman / Paris area.  Dr. Horacek has lived in Blue Ridge for over 20 years and has a young son.  He also loves the outdoors and has a passion for studying theology and teaching the Bible at his church in Frisco.
